Are there any free HTML editors?

There are many free HTML editors available you just need to decide which one is right for you.

We recommend using Alleycode HTML Editor. Alleycode has a section for editing or entering code directly as well as a WYSIWYG editor. WYSIWYG stands for What You See Is What You Get. A WYSIWYG editor lets you see what the page looks like as you work. You can drag and drop elements directly on the page. Alleycode can be downloaded from http://www.alleycode.com/

Another excellent editor is CoffeeCup HTML Editor. This editor has a WYSIWYG editor in the paid version but the free version has this disabled. However, you can preview the page that you are working on with the click of a tab. CoffeeCup HTML editor can be downloaded from http://www.coffeecup.com/.

Finally, another excellent editor is Trellian WebPage. Trellian WebPage offer a split screen view that lets you see the changes on the page as you edit your HTML code which would make this a great editor for someone that is just learning HTML. You can get Trellian WebPage at http://www.trellian.com/webpage/.

This is just a very small sampling of the editors that are available for free. If you don't like any of these for some reason you can visit http://www.tucows.com/. When you visit Tucows do a search for "HTML editor" and then you can sort the listings by license type. For the license type choose "Freeware." Tucows is definitely one of my favorite sites on the Web.
